About Our Instructors
Our teachers share a common passion for mind body soul fitness. Each has arrived to the practice of teaching through their own unique path, and guide classes at Midtown Moves with the intention of providing an enjoyable, welcoming, safe, and effective fitness and wellness experiences to the community.
Christy Cantrell: Christy has been dancing since 2005 in Ventura, CA, where she was born and loves living. In 2016 she stepped into leading mindful movement and now teaches multiple classes every week: Move to Music, Stretch Together and Rope Flow. Most of her career was spent in the field of aging/senior services so she brings that knowledge and experience to share in the process of lifelong learning as we dance through life. Credentials and experience, Nia Black Belt, Move to Heal, FreeDance, Floor Play and MoveIT training, A.A.-Bilingual/Crosscultural Studies, B.S.-Recreation and Leisure Services. Recently, Christy became certified as a Stretch Coach through the Science of Stretching as a Size Inclusive Training Fitness Specialist.

Pat Perrine started her Nia journey in July of 2002. She loved the music, the movement and the mind, body, emotion and spirit connection. And she loved the Nia community. As a senior citizen she realizes that “dancing through life” is the answer to health and wellness challenges that can occur with aging or inactivity. She became a Nia teacher to share this with other senior citizens and people with disabilities. Pat is a Management Consultant in Ventura where she lives with her husband. Pat also teaches cooking classes and administers a Cancer Foundation. Credentials and experience, Nia Blue Belt, Nia Green Belt, and MBA, Move to Heal training.
Andi Girl: Andi has 30 years of experience treating adults and children of all ages and dis-ease. Her vast training in ancient healing modalities including Laughter Yoga, HoopDance, Consciousness Coaching, energy therapies, and healing, combined with traditional strength and somatic training allows her to provide a holistic treatment approach to each individual.
Andi Girl’s energy is off the charts with her passion for Hooping FUN meets functionality. Hooping for the first time ever in the Fall of 2005 in her mid 30’s, she went from a size 20 to a size 12 in six months. A real woman in an everyday woman’s body, she is on a mission to get the “Cutie with the Bootie on the Move”. Andi teaches all levels of Hoop Habit Holistic Hoop Dance and offers Hoop Habit Certified Teacher Training for any practitioner of energy or movement. Hoop Habit™ is a one-stop source in play therapy and motivational movement teacher training.

Dr. Tricia Wolanin: Tricia is a clinical psychologist, who has numerous passions and is a sound healer, yoga instructor, bellydance instructor, writer and creativity coach. She has lead various workshops, retreats and classes in the United Kingdom, Paris France, Malaga Spain, and the United States.
